July Forum on Todd Berzon’s Classifying Christians begins! Heidi Wendt, “Classifying Christians: An AJR Forum”
Wendt: “Classifying Christians gestures toward as many frontiers of scholarly engagement as it captures others charting. To explore some of these possibilities, the Religious Worlds of Late Antiquity organized a review panel for the book at the 2017 Society of Biblical Literature Annual Meeting and invited three scholars with varied perspectives, approaches, and specialty to engage critically with Berzon’s arguments and elaborate them in view of new evidence or theoretical materials.”
Classifying Christians Forum: Ellen Muehlberger writes on Classifying Christians and N.K. Jemisin
Muehlberger: “I don’t imagine that Todd thought he would be aligning with the observations made in a popular dystopian fantasy trilogy, but the analysis of our historiographical mistakes, executed in fiction by Jemisin is, in fact, the same analysis brought forward by Classifying Christians.”
